infectious

So sorry for the blog gap. I tried to do a valentines post a few days ago. The kids helped me make some really cute valentines for their classes. However I am having some tech difficulties with my card reader. So that'll come later.
In the meantime though I seem to be having a dental emergency! Okay that's a bit dramatic, but it hurts soooooo bad! I mentioned a little tooth movement and soreness to my big Bro who happens to be a great dentist. He wants to see me. I drive to Lethbridge because the pain is getting a little more frequent and strong. It turns out I have a huge infection above my front tooth and it needs to be pulled. I didn't want to look like a pirate and so we decided not to pull it until we had a replacement. Well, the pain keeps getting worse and I'm pregnant and paranoid about taking meds. but the risk of infection at this point outweighs the risk of the meds. So I go in soon to get that all fixed up. I won't bore you with any of the gory detials. But this is so gross and not fun! Wish me luck! In the meantime biting food seems to be a luxury I can't afford, lots of smoothies and soup!

On a cute note. My Niece Freyja a while back had to have her front tooth pulled due to an abcess. Well She is giving me all sorts of advice on how much it hurts, and about being nervous. " Are you nervous" she'll ask. " I was brave I didn't even cry when they pulled my tooth" Everytime I call over there she has a new tid bit to share with me. We're tooth buddies now!

Oh my! I feel your pain...I mean I have felt your pain! I can truly sympathize with you. I am sure your brother will be giving you some good advice about a replacement, and I hope he recommends an implant. People look at me really funny when I mention that I have had 3 implants...then I clarify that they are DENTAL implants! It's the only way to go.

I hope you are feeling better soon and get your teeth back in order quickly!

oh good luck - i just had a root canal last week. My tooth started hurting on a Friday night and I didn't get my "work" done until the next Wednesday. Thank you God for Vicodin - that was not a pain I wold like to re-live anytime soon. My root canal went smooth as pie and I man do I feel better! I would much prefer a root canal anytime over a cleaning! Good luck - you will be just fine! :)

I say for get "Vanity feels no pain" and go for the pirate look, think bandanas, patches, ripped jeans oh and those huge shirts that pirates wear - perfect for pregnant mamas! All the best. Hope the pain is over soon.

Hmmm... sounds EXACTLY like a post of mine a few months back. Same thing, I had to have it pulled as well. It hurts, it sucks, and I STILL don't have a tooth! Luckily, mine is in the back! Hope you feel better sooN!

Oh that sounds painful..and even worse because you can't take anything. I hope that you get it resolved soon and that it all heals up soon....they do say that pregnancy is hard on the teeth...I had many many fillings after my first!

BTW, is that Lethbridge as in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada? My mother's father's side spent many years there and my grandfather went to university there :o)

Yikes! Rob's grandma just DIED from an abscessed tooth! The infection got into her bloodstream or something. She was 91 years old, so maybe that had something to do with it too.

Good thing you caught it!

Ah, good luck with that. Tooth pain makes me mental. Being pregnant too, that is tough. Just for kicks, you should get a picture when it gets pulled.

Yuck. To me there is nothing worse than teeth issues. I can't believe you were able to put it off even a little. I had tears pouring down my face with a tooth abscess. Like Mary Grace I have implants too. Did I mention how much I HATE tooth issues?!? I really hope by now you are all fixed up and pain free.

Liz, that sounds like a great idea. Are you thinking a weekend night or weekend? I would really like that and it would be fun for you to meet Corey.
Its about time we got ourselves together isnt it! Any time between the 17-24, or after that into march, maybe you'll want to do it later after your tooth issue has settled down. Let me know what works, email me...I dont always looks here ashleyjb@gmail.com

Yikes, that's horrible. I hope all goes well. I have never been bugged by the dentist before, but this last time around scarred me for life. I hope that doesn't happen to you. Good luck!
