Side effects of being pregnant...

So I have been a *tad* nauseated with this pregnancy to put things mildly. I have some really good days, but oh do I have some bad days! Well yesterday while in a nauseas state I thought Seger would be happy toplay upstairs for a bit. So I let my 14mth baby play in the toy room, know that he would very soon join the rest of us downstairs, but have a change of pace. I had the bathroom door closed in the hall the door to the toilet in the master closed (he loves toilets!) We are safe to go! Well As I began to put water in a pot for dinner I'd say a couple hours later I noticed I couldn't get any hot water?? I had just ran the dishwasher, maybe? huh? well Kent had just arrived home and so he checked the furnace, all good there. We were puzzled? Kent went up to change out of work clothes and calls me upstairs I find him in the ensuite bathroom. The HUGE soaker tub was minutes from over flowing!! Seger must have gently put the tap on before he joined us downstairs.

This is just one of those moments that I realize how foggy my brain is from hormone headaches and throwing up! I didn't even know a tub was running! Obviously. My sweet husband was kind enough not to utter the word 'neglect'. But boy oh boy was it good that he came home when he did!!! Yikes the flood that would have been! And I just have to thank whoever invented that overflow drain thingy because boy did that buy us just enough time yesterday!!

Wow that story brings back memories - not very pleasant memories mind you. Maybe you should turn off the main water valve next time you need to collapase. ;)

Lucky lucky! We havne't had the bathtub overflow but the kids have splashed most of the water out of the tub and guess where it ends up....coming thru the ceiling on the first floor! AND water stains the ceiling....I love paint! I covers so many things.

Wow - glad things turned out okay! That would have been a mess, huh? I hope your tummy starts to feel better as you get further along.

I so know what you mean! You know I've seen a serious study telling that we lose some of our brain function during pregnancy and we get it all back 1 year after giving birth!!! So I'm almost one at one year close to regain some of my brain function. I hope you will be less sick pretty soon. THanks for sharing :)

Hmm... those little ones are pretty sneaky at times! It amazes me how often I can be outsmarted by a toddler!

Oh Hon! I can truly relate. It is not easy being a mom and especially a pregnant mom. I remember after I had my second girl, my husband set up a bed in the dinning room for me to sleep with Jane. I had a c-section and this made life so much easier. I had breast feed her and was burping her and fell asleep while sitting up in my bed and holding her in a sitting position. I thank God that my had did not relax! I was so scared when I realize what had happened. It truly is not easy! I know God was holding Jane up for me when I couldn't. hugs, Ellen

Oh poor chica!!
Just yesterday I HAD to run to the potty, I've lost a little control since having the kid, and left my 17 month old to fend for himself in the living room. In the two seconds, okay maybe 2 mintues, he went into the kitchen, grabbed the bleach bottle and started to spray the floor! (Thank goodness it was watered down and on the off side....but you know how it dribbles out.) Well anyway yeah don't feel alone. I'm not even prego! Thanks for sharing!

Liz I'm sorry that you're feeling so crummy! Don't worry about the preggo brain, that happens to us all.

Glad that Kent was there to make the save. I'm totally laughing that Seger turned on the tap, wow he's so curious now. :)

Hang in there sweetie, hopefully the nausea will pass soon. You're nearing your second trimester now right??? Tell me again how many weeks you are.

Congrats - I didn't realize you were expecting! Have you tried ginger or peppermint tea? Celestial Seasoning's makes a really good one...

That's awesome. I'm SO glad that I'm not alone with the "Mommy Brain". Gotta love husbands who can keep comments to themselves at appropriate times...
