Beauty - Portraits

This was such a rewarding photo shoot to do. I admire all of these women for having the courage to sign up to be the singular subject in front of the camera. That can be scary for some. You are all so beautiful. I enjoyed capturing sides of you that I hadn't seen before. It was even more lovely to talk with you and smile with you and collaborate with each of you to create something really special...... a portrait of YOU.
You are all strong, striking, and exude character to be measured. And we were even lucky enough to have a young little beauty with us for a few minutes.

Love for all of you
Elizabeth

Hi all,

My friend Kim and her husband Adam are saving up to do Iron Man Cozumel! I know right? It sounds REALLY hard! And it is! Adam has already done an Iron Man this year and now Kim is joining him, (it just looked too cool I guess.)

I have donated a family session to the online auction to help them pay for this ambitious endeavour. You could bid and WIN! It is a $250 value and there are a ton of other great products and services being offered too. Fresh baked bread, babysitting, jackets, window washing, personal training.......etc. Check out the goods HERE.

Also here is a video of what they are undertaking to do. This will make you emotional. It really is amazing! GO KIM AND ADAM!!

Auction for a cause

My friend Stephanie is very actively fighting the issue of child sex slavery. Their awareness is through Child Rescue. They are trying to raise money to send a few Alberta Police Officers for training in prevention and rescue of child slaves. This issue is unfortunately closer to our own backyards then we would like. Check out the AUCTION HERE for more info and see if you can help! I have offered up a family session (worth $200) with me! Go check it out!

Vanessa- Calgary Baby Photographer

This is Vanessa. She is so well loved! I had no trouble capturing this little girl's happy bright eyes as her Mom, and Dad too, sang all her favorite songs. In fact I had never heard any of the songs, but they were wonderful and had Vanessa clapping delightfully. This is one very happy little girl. I loved Vanessa's etherial ( e.the.re.al extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world) look. Her strawberry hair lending itself beautifully to my hair accessories that My friend Laura had just made for me. You can get yours HERE. Thank you Laura!!! I love them! Now back to Vanessa......

Feeling famous or something like that?

I just received an e-mail nominating me for an award. I thought SPAM at first. But I'm glad that I took a second scan through and checked out the link. A very kind Barbara of William George, nominated me. And lucky for me Barbara didn't just click and send , but she also posted a blurb about me on her BLOG, a very nice blurb!! That just made my day!

So here is my nominees for the Liebster Award. It goes to those who have creative, inspiring, worthwhile blogs with under 300 followers.

My first would be to my cousin Martha Philips of a Young Crafty Wife. She is an up and comer! This girl just got married this last summer and has become the wife I wish I had! She is so super crafty and cute. Martha does great tutorials and has a little etsy shop full of treasures! Check her out HERE.

The next is a friend of mine. She is both hilarious and brilliant and currently doing amazing things for children everywhere Stephanie of Mama Drama. Stephanie is the mother of 3 almost 4 kids and has the best sense of humour, she's inquisitive and real! Stephanie also has started an organization with her husband and many others called Child Rescue. It focuses on saving children from child sex trade. This is close to her heart and she is building amazing awareness to the issue. Check her out HERE.

The last is a fellow quilter. Cheryl Arkinson of Naptime Quilter. Cheryl is both talented and a brilliant writer. She is out in her community building connections and contributing to the quilting world like nobody's business! I am very often inspired by her creative perspective, her talent and the way she tackles her projects. I so enjoy reading her blog! Check her out HERE.

PUBLISHED!

I'm PUBLISHED!!! I haven't written about this earlier because I was waiting to see it in print myself. Well here it is.... I have a 3 page spread in Quilt Mania a european magazine. My pattern is actually published for the making in the back section and It's gone out to subscribers internationally!!! I sent the actual quilt to them back before christmas for photographing and they proceeded (with my permission) to show the quilt in France, Belgium, Milan, and Italy. I feel so famous! Anyways just had to share a little dream that came true. Here's a peek at the spread, I think the pic is so cute and they even put a colinder in the picture, which is like a " how did they know" moment, because I secretly love colinders and have a small collection started. Enjoy!

I was also shown on Quilt Home, in their newsletter back in january, which was really fun!

If you are new here and love the quilt, you can still purchase your very own copy of the pattern! Go to my website lizzyanne.com for pricing and shoot me an e-mail with your order request. It can be your in no time! The pattern is an easy to intermediate pattern.

Some people have been wondering where to get this amazing fabric line. The fabrics are from the Andalucia line, by Patty Young for Michael Miller Fabrics. Patty is a wonderful designer and has a new line coming out soon as well. You can visit her blog for a full list of retailers that carry her line.
